Kim Delaney is an American actress who is best known for her role as Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she received an Emmy Award. She has also starred in series like All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives and CSI: Miami. Delaney was the sole child of her homemaker mother and an executive in the United Auto Workers. Delaney spent most of her childhood in the company of four brothers. Though she had a dream of becoming journalist, it was not until the time of her high school days when Delaney started modeling. Following her move away from New York City and gaining an experience working with commercials at New York did she achieve an aspiring career as court reporters. Her first acting job was as a teen innocent in All My Children, a soap opera from 1981. Delaney was in numerous of films, television movies and dramatics since then. Like her career, her personal life hasn't been easy or prosperous. The actress, who is skilled and stunning, has had to battle addiction to alcohol prior to that. She has also had marriages that failed two times. In 2005 she lost the custody of her sole son.
